JASG60: Jazz for All!
We represented Singapore on the International Jazz Stage! On UNESCO International Jazz Day 2025, we brought 300 youth and 300 elderly beneficiaries to take over Gardens by the Bay in an inclusive and record-setting celebration of 60 years of nation building, with 5 bands each performing a different style of Jazz!

Our Tampines Hub 2024 Festival ‘Every Little Thing’
We turned 2! And what better way to celebrate than with more than 2 hours of Blues, Funk, and Soul music over at Our Tampines Hub’s Every Little Thing Festival! With more than 20 musicians and 4 bands, we Jazzed up OTH good, and even had residents of Tampines running towards the stage after hearing our music (click here to see evidence) !
2024 NDP NTUC Bay Celebrations

We celebrated NDP2024 with our fellow youths at an ecstatic carnival at The Promontory, and even headlined with local music sensation Shye! It was a rousing performance where we weaved in and out of the main parade, maybe some day we will join the main parade!

Our Story
The Jazzlings was established in 2023 by a group of National University of Singapore Jazz Band Members. Faced with insufficient opportunities to practice and perform Jazz, these kittens decided to take matters into their own hands and take their music out into the wilderness. You know what happened next ;)
The smaller players in the scene with some members having just one year of experience on their instrument, The Jazzlings started out performing weekly at Bar Bar Black Sheep @ Kent Ridge and even hosted monthly Jam Sessions for NUS Students, faculty, and the general public to enjoy. However, due to their usage of NUS Jazz Band (NJB) equipment for these community jams, they were threatened with suspension from NJB by the NUS Center For the Arts (CFA) and had to stop (oopsies). They did not stop.
Realising the need for greater independence and sustainability, The Jazzlings began taking up more gigs and paid performances and invested in their own equipment and instruments; ironically NUS was a frequent client and avid supporter of their students’ musical and entrepreneurial ventures, engaging The Jazzlings for important events such as the official launch of NUS College with Guest of Honour Minister Chan Chun Sing, and even People’s Day Celebrations. NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine also frequently engaged The Jazzlings to perform for its conferences and dinners, many of which with important international guests.
A youth group, The Jazzlings were naturally digital natives and began taking their music online. From Instagram to local production channel Scratch n Shuffle, their music can be heard throughout the net. Musicians from The Jazzlings were also featured on a skin-release soundtrack for League of Legend’s Wild Rift for Psychic Detective Ekko (wow!). The Jazzlings also debuted at the quintessential Jazz spot The Jazz Loft @ Blujaz Cafe with two sold-out shows, ‘Jazz in The Attic’ and ‘Jazz in The Diaspora’. And with growing online and offline recognition, The Jazzlings began maturing as a group, with the group’s mission and vision starting to slowly take shape.
Soon after, The Jazzlings began recruiting more musicians beyond NUS, tapping into the rich and talented pool of Youth Musicians in Singapore. From graduates of LaSalle’s Jazz Programme to Scholars of the Jazz Association of Singapore, to up and coming talents who just ORD-ed, The Jazzlings grew to more than 40 members scattered across the island and industries. Boasting a roster of not only Jazz musicians but internationally award-winning Classical, Traditional, Ethnic, and Contemporary musicians, The Jazzlings had a truly rich and diverse pool of knowledge, experiences, and most importantly music that could be shared for mutual learning and growth.
Speaking of diversity, The Jazzlings was invited to anchor the Jazz segment for Chingay 2024, Singapore’s iconic celebration of culture and diversity! Apart from recording all the Big Band music used in the Jazz Act, The Jazzlings also got to perform with grand-senior of NJB, Big Sister Joanna Dong! They also had their own feature during the main parade, and could be seen and heard by Singaporeans islandwide. The Jazzlings also celebrated their 2nd anniversary with more than 2 hours of music at Our Tampines Hub’s 2024 Festival, Every Little Thing, and will be celebrating the nation’s 59th birthday with NTUC at The Promontory.
A Singaporean Youth Jazz Collective, The Jazzlings hope to continue bringing their music and love for Jazz into the lives of Singaporeans, doing their part in creating a vibrant and cultured Singapore in a financially sustainable manner.

Cafe Concert

A longtime friend of the station, The Jazzlings brought some cozy Jazz to Symphony 92.4’s Cafe Concert, introducing our music to many first-time listeners of Jazz music. The concert was held at the flagship Clarke Quay outlet of Swee Lee, a local music icon.

White Day in The Blue

The Jazzlings staged another show at the quintessential Jazz spot, The Jazz Loft at Blujaz Cafe, titled White Day in The Blue. With Andreaz Rozario on Piano, Kenji Nakano on Bass, Khoo Shen En on Drums, and Bian Tong on Saxophone and Flute, the impressionable quartet played a diverse range of tunes ranging from standards to the titular soundtrack to Gundam Thunderbolt the show is named after.

Chingay 2024: Blossom
We’re on Chingay 2024! For Act 3, the Jazz Act, our musicians not only recorded all the Jazz Big Band horn lines, but we also got a feature on the actual parade alongside Joanna Dong and Gareth Fernandez! We’re overjoyed to be able to celebrate Singapore’s diversity and rich culture with everyone!

NUS Medicine Dinner 2024

The Jazzlings joined the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in celebrating the graduating class of 2024, who will go on to become our next generation of healthcare and medicine professionals. The event was also graced by numerous Ministers who are alumni of the school, with Guest of Honour Senior Minister of State Janil Puthucheary.

To celebrate the launch of another concert season, we brought some light and fusion Jazz to SCO, and our Flautist Bian Tong also brought out his old instrument The Dizi!
